Universitas Prasetiya Mulya is the pioneer of MBA program in Indonesia and the leading business school in the country. Established in 1982 by the country’s prominent business leaders, the institution has served as an excellent center of learning for entrepreneurs, professionals, and researchers.
With the commencement of the undergraduate program in 2005, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya reaffirmed the Founders’ dedication to catalyze the higher education of young Indonesian entrepreneurs and professionals. Since then, student enrolment steadily increased every year, requiring the school to expand further. In late 2009, it started building its second campus with a total area of 8 hectares located in the fledgling suburban area southwest of Jakarta, known as Edutown-Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City.
The BSD Campus offers a pleasant atmosphere for creative and innovative learning, as it is supported by superior campus facilities and positioned away from Jakarta’s congestion. The new campus was built particularly to facilitate undergraduate students better and more creatively. This symbolizes Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s commitments to offering higher education of the highest standard of excellence and, thereby, to facilitating the formation of entrepreneurs and professionals tailored for the progressively evolving business landscape.
Aware of centrality of advancements in science and technology to the creation of 21st-century businesses, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya decided to widen its learning portfolio to a few streams in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). As in the case of the School of Business and Economics, the STEM at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya is aimed at the uses of STEM, rather than on the origination of new knowledge, with the apparent overlap between the two. With STEM the gate has been open to collaborative learning in the sense of multidisciplinary learning. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya can now offer to industries richer opportunities for collaborative joint training, research and business creation. Existing collaboration with excellent companies, firms, and universities from Indonesia and around the globe such as Hitachi, Nutrifood, Emurgo, Medco Foundation, University of New South Wales, Zhejiang University, will be elevated mutualistically.
Responding to the diverse challenges of the 21st century, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya has made “Collaborative Learning by Enterprising” the central position of its learning pursuit—and has proven the walk of its talk! A globally renown consulting firm confirms in a commissioned study a ratio of entrepreneurs to total graduates being far above Indonesia’s national average. With its School of Business and Economics, School of STEM and Executive Learning Institute (ELI), Universitas Prasetiya Mulya will continue to work as a learning attractor in service to Indonesia and its East Asian neighbors.
A progressively evolving center and movement for the formation of holistic citizens of an informed, open, united, democratic, and just nation and society of Indonesia, focusing on the advancement of innovative entrepreneurs through “Collaborative Learning by Enterprising.”
To transform lives through innovative and entrepreneurial higher education, research and community services, aimed at an innovative, competitive and socially responsible citizenry of students, alumni and workforce, and; to enhance business innovation and excellence by synthesizing local wisdoms and values with the shared basic values of a progressing humankind.
